At Udara Bali we have some of the most unique and beautiful Yoga Shalas in all of Asia. Yoga is about finding peace and a place inside yourself. And the physical place where we practice is immensely beneficial in supporting us in this process. We have 5 beautiful shalas, which each have their own unique features, design and energy. The names of our Yoga shalas honour important gods of Balinese Hinduism and pay tribute to the local culture of this island. For the various practices on our daily schedule, all of our Yoga shalas are equipped with high quality yoga mats, bolsters, blocks, belts and aerial silks.
Udara Yoga Shala
three with ocean view , one overlooking the ancient temples
Our biggest Shala, can comfortably room up to 75 yogis. With a beautiful view of the ocean, it is hard to keep one's eyes closed during meditation! In the Shiva Shala we practice all kinds of yoga from Hatha and Vinyasa to The Secret of Kundalini to Gentle Flow. On Sundays we also have our ecstatic dance party here!
Our soft teak wood floors are ideal for dancing and activities like Kundalini Movement Meditation. With the ocean breeze and sound of the crashing waves in the background, there are only a few places that are better to enhance your practice. A beautiful Shiva statue and various sacred objects on the main altar help enhance the special atmosphere of our main shala.
Is our aerial studio, with an incredible 360° view of the Indian Ocean and Bali's volcanoes and the rice fields. You can see all the way to the Southern tip of Bali and even watch the planes land all the way at Denpasar airport! Practicing yoga with a view of the horizon, the sea breeze on your skin and doing aerial yoga in the early morning has truly never been a more transformational experience. And our evening aerial sessions let you take part in the breathtaking spectacle of the fiery sun setting behind the clear ocean blue and the stars emerging.
We have 17 US standard aerial silk hammocks available. We also have the possibility to provide four 6m acrobatic aerial silks. For non aerial yoga classes the Shala fits about 45 people.
This Shala is medium sized, fitting about 12-15 yogis. From it you can enjoy a fascinating view of the traditional Balinese temple tops.
A playful design that combines wood and stone features to provide a beautiful place for a beautiful practice.
Garuda Morning Meditation Platform
This is our rooftop area used exclusively for morning meditation with a spectacular view towards the mountains and the open sky. It fits about 15 people during a seated meditation. On a clear morning you can see all the way to the Batukaru mountain range and the holy Gunung Agung volcano while enjoying the sunrise and overlooking Seseh village in front of you.
It’s a refreshing way to start the day with a clear mind and a positive intention for the day.
Our Vishnu Shala is the one at the very top, it is the most intimate with room for up to 8 yogis. Here we mainly practice meditation sessions and our beautiful candlelight Yin Yoga, an incredibly calming way to end the day.
Besides that, it is a beautiful place to relax during the day on comfortable mattresses with a nice massage or while reading a book from our small library and enjoying the breathtaking view of the ocean.
